Three Way Calling

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to add a third party to an existing conversation. The party initiating a three way call (the controller) may place one party on hold while dialing and talking to a second party. The controller may then include the held party in a three way connection. The added party may be dropped from the connection by a flash from the controller.Multiple three way calls may be connected by "chaining" the calls, provided the chaining is done by a non-controlling party in an established three way call.

Operation

To set up Three Way Calling:

1.Establish a normal two party call.

2.Flash the switchhook or press the recall button. Recall dial tone is returned, and the first party is put on soft hold.

3.Dial the number of the next party. Ringing tone is returned if the line is idle. When the ringing party answers, flash the switchhook or press the recall button and all three parties are connected.

The controller may flash the switchhook or press the recall button to connect all parties at any time after dialing the second party. It is not necessary to wait for the ringing party to answer before joining the call. A subscriber that is busy or does not answer when an attempt is made to add the subscriber to a three way call can be released by flashing the switchhook or pressing the recall button. Flashing the switchhook or pressing the recall button during a Three Way Call will always drop the third party.

To leave Three Way Calling:

1.A non-controlling member can leave the call at any time, simply by replacing the handset. When the controller disconnects, the non-controlling members of the call are dropped.
